access to contacts in email

My boss (of all people) cannot see his contacts when he
clicks on the 'TO:' at the new email message screen. It's
a brand new machine with Windows XP Pro & Office Pro.
When you go into 'Contacts' all the contacts and their
email addresses are there, but, he can't access them at
the TO: button, or, at the Address Book Icon. I checked
the filter, it's off, don't know what else to do. Thanks
