Access Upgrade

We are upgrading one of our mdb files to sql server 5 express because it has
gotten two large. We are good at access but no experience in sql server at
all. We have downloaded and installed Sqlserver express and tried to run the
upgrade wizard in access, but we are not having success in completing the
upgrade our how to use Sql Server.

Can you suggest any online resources that can help us in migrating this file
to SQL Server Express?

Thank you,
Terry

There is a newsgroup about this topic: m.p.access.sqlupsizing.

Using the SQL-Server Migration Assistant for Access (SSMA-A) will give you a
better job than the Upsizing Wizard; however, even with SSMA, you will still
have a lot of work to do in order to finish the job.

If you are upsising to a MDB file with linked tables, this amount of work
will be less than with an ADP project. Also, the SSMA doesn't offer a
direct support for ADP.

Thanks. It is just a one table mdb file that we need to link to from other
mdb files, but it has grown to 1.3 GB and 350k records so we wanted to
upgrade before we started having issues. I will check out
m.p.access.sqlupsizing.
Thanx Again

I would reccomend using SQL Server 2000 for a little while.. until you
get your bearings

SQL Server Express 2005 works best with Access 2007
