Access using 100% cpu after installing office service pack

For one of our customers we built an Access adp. application using an SQL
database.
Last night on all of the workstations Office 2003 Service Pack 2 was
(automatically) installed, and today we have all kinds of trouble with Access.
Mainly what happens is people start up their Access application, which goes
fine, but when they start working Access freezes, even when just trying to
change to another record.
In the task manager we can see that the msaccess.exe is using 100% cpu.
On the SQL-database server all is fine, it seems to be a local workstation
problem.
Of course I am not sure this has to do with the SP2 install, but fact is
that yesterday (before the install) everything was running fine.
Has anybody else encoutered this problem?
And: more important: what can we do? The database is very important for this
customer so we need a solution urgently!!!!

In addition I can tell you we have deinstalled Office on one workstation and
reinstalled it without SP2.
Access worked fine after that. Then reinstalled SP 2, and presto: problem as
before.
So it seems likely that the Service Pack actually IS the culprit.
