Access version of project file? expand timephased data?

I'd like to have an Access database version of my Project file that is linked
(updates made on project readily appear in Access). When I save Project as
an Access file however, the resulting file will not open in Access. I am
using Project 2000 and Access 97.

Also, when you go to Tools then Options, what does the selection 'Expand
timephased data in database' mean on the Save options tab?
