Hi Alll,
I have an Access database on branch office (other country) I need to
connect from oother place via VPN.
What is the best method to connect Access database via VPN? if
possible to connect direct via VPN. Have tested using WinXP-VPN
setting for both computer but very slow. Or must use Replication
method? Is it possible to use access in client-server style?
TIA

You can connect to the database via VPN, but it'll be SLOW and the chance for corruption is pretty high. You'd be better
off replicating the database, or moving to a server type database like MS SQL or MySQL. Access (actually the Jet
database engine) cannot be used "client-server" style that would be of any advantage to your problem.

Another option is Terminal Server or Citrix over your VPN. This works very well in most cases, although it does require
a bit of setup and maintenance.

Access via VPN is only supported if you're using Access Data Projects

these MDB chipmunks tell you to buy another server-- it's comical-- the only
server you need is a DATABASE SERVER

CORRECTION!

VPN is not slow-- ADP works _GREAT_ over a VPN

MDB is slow and is not reccomended
