Access wants to stay open

Anyone ever get some weird behavior when a program written in Access
closes properly, but the instance of Access is still open? I have had
this problem pop up every so often and it gets a little annoying.

Access seems to want to stay open (but not be the active program) even
after you try to close Access, like another instance fires up. Almost
like a loop.

Any suggestions on what to do?

I have encountered this and more often than not, it was due to an
improperly released object reference, or code that was still actually
running. I recall one person who actually had an invisible form that
had code in the Unload event that prevented it from being closed -
thus Access stayed open.
