We are having a problem with an access 2002 web page. we
used the pivot table options on the web page to give sort
options on pull downs. Users on os XP and office 2002 can
use these pull downs to select the item to sort on. Users
on XP os and any other office version including 2003
cannot use the pull downs. Also when you right click you
should get various options on the machines that do not
work these are all grayed out.

any ideas.

Hi,

Pivot Tables use the Office web components, and these are installed with
some office applicaitons, for example Excel. If you created the pivot table
with Office 2002, you will probably find that everything works when it
used on a machine with Office 2002.

Acrroding to the FAQ on Office XP Web Components Licensing:

Q. How about Data Access Pages built with Access 2002? Will they work
correctly even if the end user doesn't have a valid license?

A. Data Access Pages built with Access 2002 use the Office Web Component
as a data source control. The data source control will work correctly
regardless of the client license. Note, however, that any other Office Web
Component controls—Microsoft PivotTable®, Microsoft PivotChart®,
Spreadsheet Control, or Chart Control—on the Data Access Page will react
accordingly based on the client license. If a valid license is detected,
the controls will work in interactive mode. If a valid license is not
detected, they will work in view-only mode.
