Access will no longer run

Desperately needing help. For several months I have not used Access. Many
things have happened in the interim most notably a repair of XP, upgrade to
SP3, complete re-install of Office and upgrade to SP3. Now everything except
Access is running fine. When I try to start Access, the installer starts
running, XP configuration starts and completes with no error but Access does
not start up. I have the installer logging in verbose mode - there is nothing
in that log file that gives me a clue as to what is going wrong. In the event
viewer I get three informational events with id's 11728, 1035, and 1042, in
that order. THere is no useful information in these events. Any help would be
appreciated. For completeness, I am running XP SP3, Office XP Pro 2002
edition.

Unfortunately, so far I have had no response to my posting. When I figure
out how to fix it I'll certainly let you know...

I'm trying to resolve the exact same problem. I've tried so many
troubleshooting recommendations. The only thing different that I noticed
which I read can cause problems is the GUID product code.

All Office programs are 11.0.8173.0 except Access which shows 11.0.8166.0.
