access wont open goes to install window

I just installed MS access 2003 and when I try to open access it goes to an
install window, I still have my office 2003 cd in the cdrom, and then when
its finished gathering information, it does nothing. I have tried to open a
db file and when I select the open with feature it wont display the access
program, even when I browse for the access program and select it, it doesnt
display access in my list of programs. Any Ideas??

I just had a similar problem myself. My program had been functioning, but
when I did an XP Pro upgrade it would do what you described. I downloaded
the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from Microsoft's website and
uninstalled changes made when Office installed. I then uninstalled office
completely, and reinstalled it. It worked for me. I don't know the specs on
your computer, but that might help. Be sure to backup your outlook pst and
do a system restore point before getting involved with this, if you're going
to try it.

I had the same issue, no solutions at this time, although I think that it may
be a registry key that needs to be modified.
