Access XP file Error

Hi,

I have a MS Access version XP file for my project work , the front end of
which is done in Excel by which people will interact with DB, like submitting
data , running reports, it's multi user environment.

Today, it gave me the below error when i tried to open the DB ..
"The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and
another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time"

I know this is caused by multi user access and possible cause of locking the
same data.

But when i checked the folder, there is no lock file at all, so that makes
clear no one is currently using it, but still this error pops up and the file
does not open at all.

I have got important data in the DB which i need to repair and restore it
back.

I tried opening up the file from Excel VBA code, another Access Db file, but
same result.

Please can anyone help me on this?

Thanks for your help.

you might need to reboot the network server in order to clean things
up.

thanks

It could be you and yourself, for example if you have two forms open
in edit mode. Or a form and a recordset.

I suppose that's difficult to do as all other applications are running.

I have also copied the DB to my local drive, but same result?

Is it because it copies the file information all along?
