There are two *better* (IMO) database apps for Mac (and both are
cross-platform compatible):

FileMaker Pro:

4D (which is free for academic use):

MS has said that they don't intend to port Access:

In addition, MySQL runs on Apple's X11 software.

File Maker is an Excellent replacement. Many people have said it is better,
but that is a personal point of view
