Access2002/2000 File format with Split Database

Hi, I have a database in Access 2000 file format which has been split.
I have now learnt about the Pivotchart function only working correctly with
reports when used with Access 2002 file format!
Do I have to unsplit the database then convert it and subsequently split it
again or can i just convert the workstation files??

Any advice gratefully received
