Access95 Out of Memory error message

I have MS Access 95. It does what I need and I am not interested in
upgrading.

I got a new computer with 1Gb RAM. I installed Access 95 and it ran fine.
Then I had to do a system recovery that reformatted my hard drive, so I had
to reinstall everything. Now it will not run. I get an "Out of memory"
error which the knowledge base implies is due to having 1Gb RAM and an old
version of Jet. (I don't know why it ran before.) I also have Office 2000
standard installed.

Does anyone know how I can update the Jet without upgrading my Access?

You gotta let that Access95 go... If not for your children's sake, then for
the ease of VBA and form design. In early Access, we had to flip flop coding
in an MDI environment. You don't have to do that anymore. Now it's just code
and go...

I read that late JET might not be backward compatible with early
applications. The major change was from DAO to ADO.

DAO continues to be the preferred method for dealing with Jet. Microsoft
clouded the waters by removing the default reference to DAO in Access 2000
and 2002, but came back to their senses in Access 2003.

I have a couple of simple things that I use the Access95 for...just want to
get it working again without having to redo existing stuff. (I have VB.Net
for new stuff)

Any way to make it run? I had it working on this machine before I have to
reformat and reinstall... so I know it can be done.

Thanks,
Debbie

I'm not familiar with this problem for Access 95. Access 97, yes, but not
Access 95.

With Access 97, the solution is to get the latest service pack. Not sure if
you CAN get service packs for Access 95 anymore.
