Access97 - Disk or Network Error

I am currently using Microsoft Access97 and it is split. The DB portion is on
a server connected to another building via a T-1 circuit. The back end
portion is contained on each idividual machine. When two or more persons
attemot to gain access to the DB they get a Disk or network error screen that
comes up. Is there anything that I can do to ocrrect the problem? Would it be
easier to move to a newer version of Access? Any help would be appreciated.

It's probably a network issue. To be honest, it might be better to move to a
web-based solution or something that is more client-server than Access. Once
you get into the area of WANs or wireless networks, Access starts to stumble
badly.
