Access97 to Access2003

I wish to upgrade to 2003 from 97 but cannot find conclusive
statements on the Microsoft web site that this is possible. It
mentions 2000 format, but not 97.

Can somebody please give me a definitive yes or no?

Actually, the default file format in Access 2003 (and Access 2002, for that
matter) is the Access 2000 format. This is done to allow greater usability:
users with any of the 3 versions can work with the same mdb file now.

Should probably have added that there is also an Access 2002/2003 format
that's possible, but there are few issues that I'm aware of converting from
Access 2000 to Access 2002/2003 format.
