accessing a database on a Win98 from a xp machine over a router

Hi,

I encountered a strange problem:
It involves 2 computers, networked via a router so they both have internet
access and everything works fine except for opening a Access database on the
other computer.
When I try to open this file, an error message appears in which it says that
this file is outside the intranet or on a non-trusted site.
Is this a setting in access?
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

You need to tell your router that the other computer is trusted. Not knowing
your router setup, I would imagine this would be done through a software
interface. I'm not a router person, so this is my best guess. I use a
firewall to tell my router that my other computers are trusted.

You can also double check your Internet Security settings to ensure that
the other computer is placed in your Trusted sites. Each computer has
it own internet security settings.
