When opening an Office 2003 program and trying to insert clipart, computer
will often hang. Figured out that problem is most likely that Clip Organizer
is trying to access Web as "web collections" is checked under Search In (if
you take check out of "web collection" box before searching, it works fine).
I work for a large school district and we have 1000's of computers that do
this and usually many different users logon to same machine so there are
multiple profiles. We also restrict web access for certain logins and require
passwords using Websense for internet access. I tried to recreate default
user with web collection unchecked but it was checked again after logging
back in as a different user. I'm sure there is something in the registry
that will turn this off or on by default but I can't find it. Any help would
be appreciated. This is primarily a problem with Dell GX270s running XP Pro
and Office 2003.
