Accessing email anywhere

M

marc

I run XP OS and Outlook 2002

I was recently surprised when - at a client location I
plugged in an ethernet cable, XP/outlook did the rest and
I could send and receive messages through their ISP (some
dutch company)and access (&send) my email at my ISP
(netsurf.)

For 2 years now I have been trying to manage this at home
with my ISP (sympatico)with little success and am forced
to use the web-based browser to SEND email - totally
inconvenient.

Despite many tech support conversations on this - little
success.

Basically the question is - is it the ISP or the
software.

What do I do to send and rec. my work email (netsurf ISP)
via another ISP (i.e. home - sympatico)directly with
Outlook.

receive should be no problem. Sending is the tricky bit - you need to
set up the smtp server to authenticate.
