Accessing enterprise custom fields in OLAP cube?

Hello. I am trying to access a custom field of type Enterprise Project Text
from the cube(s) created by Project Server 2003, and it doesn't appear as
though the data in the field is accessible from the cube. I customized the
field named 'Enterprise Project Text1' in our global template by renaming it
'Project Code' and adding a list of possible values. The field is available
from Project 2003, but I'd also like to access the data in the cube
(preferably from MSP_PORTFOLIO_ANALYZER).

Does anyone know if this possible in Project Server 2003/Project
Professional 2003?

Thanks in advance,
Darryl R.

By default, the OLAP cube contains only enterprise custom Project outline
codes and enterprise custom Resource outline codes. It does not contain
Project or Resource fields, nor does it contain Task outline codes or
fields. I would suggest, therefore, that you use a custom enterprise
Project outline code rather than a field for this purpose. Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks a lot. After reading your reply, I created an enterprise project
outline code to see how it would change the cube. Incidentally, according to
the Customize Enterprise Fields dialog, I could have also created an
enterprise task or resource outline code. Anyway, adding the outline code
produced a new dimension in the cube, which is almost what I wanted. Now
I'll have to figure out how to slice and dice the data so that we can report
hours worked against each code.

Dale,

It looks like this will do the trick (when you work with the cube from
Excel). Do you know of a way to display enterprise project outline codes in
the Timesheet view of Tasks (on the Tasks tab). I investigated adding
project outline code fields to this view using the Manage views UI, but
couldn't find a way to do it.

Thanks in advance,
Darryl R.
