accessing files on network

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

When I do open file on Windows version of Office I get a network places option. I need to work with files saved on my network server at my workplace and have no idea how to do this on Mac.
Please help

Please help

Use file-open, and then navigate to the network server. If this does not
work, mount the server using the finder's Go menu.
