Accessing historical PWA/Sharepoint documentation

I am a member of the administrators group for project server, and
therefore am granted administrator rights automatically to all new
projects and associated sharepoint sites. But I do not have rights to
any projects and associated sharepoint sites that were created prior
to my being added to the adminstrators group. It appears that
sharepoint assigns rights to sites by the user IDs within a group
rather than by the group itself. This is a problem if I or anyone
else in the organization needs to be able to view hitorical
documentation on a project they weren't a team member of. If it's a
project that started since I've been an administrator, I can go in and
add them as a reader to the site. But if it's an older project from
before I became an administrator, I must have the previous
administrator go in and add the permissions. I'm worried that if the
previous administrator is not available or leaves the company, those
historical documents will be locked forever. Is there a way to
synchronize my user ID with all sharepoint sites in our system so that
I have admin rights to them all? Thanks. -Doug

Hi Doug,

You could perform a synchronization to the project workspace from PWA. The
Synchronize function can be located at Server Settings->Project Workspaces.

Thanks. Is this the same as "Synchronize Web Administrators" on the
"Synchronize administrator accounts" page? I've tried that, but it
doesn't help. I've also tried the Synchronize button on the "Manage
Windows SharePoint Services Sites" page, but that doesn't help
either. -Doug
