Accessing Microsoft Exchange Server via a VPN

Feathers

I am having some troubles accessing my Exchange Server at work from my laptop
at home via a VPN.
I can access it fine if a use a straight forward dial up connection through
the phone line, but I can't access it through my broadband router
at home.
At home I can still access all the drives/folders from the VPN, but Outlook
says that it is unable to connect to the server.
It worked before, but I've recently been on holiday were I was using a
different dial up connection to access the VPN. I haven't changed any
settings but on my return it's not working.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Thank you.

Can you ping the Exchange server by name? Do you use your company's DNS/WINS
IPs in your config, or are you using an LMHOSTS file?
Have you tried asking your IT staff at work?
