I created templates in Office 2000 when I had Win 98 and
then saved them to the templates folder in Win XP. Now I
am unable to access the actual templates if I need to
update them (with a new address), or need to save on to
CD or disk to transfer it to another computer.
I did a search for hidden files, and the templates are
supposedly in Documents and Settings>my name>Application
Data>Microsoft>Templates, but I can't access that folder
from Word or My Computer. If I click the file I find
through the search bar, it creates a new document based
on the template, but won't open the template. If I do
New>From Template> and click the create new template
option, then I have to create a new template and won't
let me save over the old template.
How do I access my templates? This feature was much
better in Win 98.
