Accessing project server over a non-trusted connection?

Hi,

I have been having a problem with Project 2003 when I try to connect to our
project server. Project asks to make a site (the Project server) a trusted
connection (or site). It fails to do it automatically, but requests the user
to make the
server a trusted site manually.

There seems to be a problem because I cannot set it as a trusted site. I get
the error "The site you specified already exists in another zone. Please
remove the site from that zone before adding it to the current zone", but the
site is not in any other zone!

Anyway, as a work around, is there any setting (or registry hack) that will
allow Project to connect to the server without it being a trusted site?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

I'm having the same issue. Was your IE6 browser installed with IEAK?
Apparently, IE that has been rolled out with IEAK stores security zones in
HKLM registry entries instead of HKCU but when you display them in IE, you
can only view the HKCU entries. So if you go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings and find the host in question and delete it, you can manually enter
it into IE and it will appear to take it. But in my case, IE puts it back
into the HKLM section, where Project 2003 Pro doesn't see it (and neither
does IE when you go back into the zone settings and look). I'm working
through http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=182569 right now to try to find a
solution, but so far, nothing has worked.
