AccessXP Opening Screen Not Normal

When my AccessXP opens, all I get is a blank screen with the menu at the
top. The splash screen appears momentarily then disappears. Options under
Tools is disabled. What do I have to do to return to normal where I get the
splash screen, the dialog to choose one of the last four mdbs to open and
Options under Tools is enabled?
