accident reports for visio

J

Jeff Prichard

I am with the Graham Police Department. We have recently
purchased several new computer systems to use at he
Police Department. We were using Visio / accident
reporting to complete vehilce accident reports. Our new
systems come with Windows XP and the Visio that we have
is not compatible. Do we need to purchase a newer
version, can we upgrade? I believe we purchased the
original about 5 years ago and the vendor is no longer
available. Where can I purchase if needed and how much is
it going to cost? Thank you.

according to other users, you should be able to use Visio5
with XP, just be sure to install in compatibility mode.
There have been other posts regarding the visioX/XP
install.

Windows XP was not around when the Visio 5 setup was created, so the error
is incorrect and can be ignored.

Something to Consider: Currently Visio 5 is the oldest version of Visio that
qualifies for an upgrade and when Visio 2003 is released later this year,
Visio 5 may no longer qualify for an upgrade. After that you will have to
pay the full price rather than the upgrade price. I am not sure what
Microsoft's policy is, but when Visio was a separate company, if you
upgraded just before the release of the next version, the upgrade to the
next version was free.
