accidental document designation

My computer threw me back to an older image, and decided that my wps
documents were one of those 'what do you want to open with? types.

I have word 2000, but when I clicked on one, my finger slipped and
accidently designated it as a wordpad document, and I don't know how to
redesignate the over 200+ documents.

HELP!!!!

No Joy cat and dog; The system says a dll was deleted or renamed, and I am
not even sure3 which one it is. The work program came with this 'stone knives
and bearskins' computer back in 2000, so I don't even know which mark of
works it is. Any ideas?

We definitely don't know. Is this something that has been given to you
recently?

Try this: go to Start, Run and enter

winword /r

and press Enter. That should reregister Word and correctly open document
files.

If this is Works rather than Word, I suggest that you take the problem over
to the Works Newsgroup.

Alphabetically, Works immediately follows Word. So
microsoft.public.works.win is the newsgroup.
