in an effort to get rid of one page of a spread sheet I accidentally deleted the entire spreadsheet (Edit, Delete Sheet). When I went to undo it, I says "can't undo" is there anyway to find that sheet... sorry, it wasn't backed up to an external disc or hard drive. and the saved version is now the version with the spreadsheet deleted??? is there anything I can do to retrieve the spread sheet?

Probably not - that's why the "The selected sheet(s) will be permanently
deleted" warning came up.

If you set the file to Always create backup (by clicking the Options
button in the Save As dialog and checking the checkbox), the older
version should be in the same folder named "Backup of <wkbkname>.xls"
