Accidentally Deleted Business Contact, Now Can't Link To Account

Why in God's name allow you to delete an entire Business Contact without
prompting when you accidentally click Delete instead of Remove?????? That is
absurd!!!!

Anyway, several times now I've accidentally deleted a Business Contact. So I
go to the Deleted Items folder under Business Contact Manger in the folder
list, right click on the deleted contact, select move to folder and move it
back to the Business Contacts folder. That's all well and good, but now ALL
communication history is gone and the button to link it to an Account is
greyed out. I NEED this info. It is a devastating loss otherwise.

Is it gone forever?

And for the record, the documentation for this product is the worst thing I
have ever seen and finding answers to incredibly common questions is nearly
impossible.
