account settings confusing

XP Pro, Office '07...I have an exchange account set as default. Previously I
had a yahoo pop3 also (which, using a rule, was transferring messages to a
subset of the
exchange inbox).

I have now taken the Yahoo account off (deleted it), but when I send
messages, the 'from' line still shows up as the Yahoo information setting
(User name, which is shortened version of my name) and account (the address
for the yahoo account itself). This was my original problem, and why I
deleted the Yahoo pop3, so now it's CLEARLY screwed up, and not just some
confusion between accounts.

How is it that my new messages from the Exchange account are being sent with
the yahoo header information?

Thx.

Where is your delivery location?

Brian, as always I am happy to see a reliable 'face' show up.

if you mean location of the ost file, it is the standard
doc-settings\user...\MS\OL\OL.ost path.

If you are talking about another setting, not sure which. The Exchange
account now is the only account that is listed in my settings, and it's being
put to the inbox folder in the list of folders under the exchange mailbox in
the navigation.

those are the only two 'locations' that I can think of. Does that help
determine what may be wrong?

When I was in high school, my face wasn't so reliable. It was hard to get a
date.

No, that's not what I meant. I was asking if your delivery location was the
Exchange mailbox or a PST.

That's the answer I sought. If I were you, I'd create a new mail profile
using the Mail applet in Control Panel and see if that makes a difference.
The only explanation that occurs to me of why you'd have remnants of the
Yahoo account showing when you send messages with only the Exchange account
is that you're replying to messages received by the Yahoo account while it
existed. Outlook replies using the same account by which a message was
received. Since you have only the Exchange account now, I would have
expected the messages to simply sit in the Outbox and not get sent, but
Exchange is a mysterious application to me and perhaps it's willing to send
the messages. If you're sending new messages and see the Yahoo address,
however, I can't explain it. Perhaps someone else might.

well as you said, quirky devil is all I can say about OL. prior messages,
incidentally, were not responses to yahoo msgs. I checked several times to
make sure. No remnants of Yahoo, and brand new msgs were getting generated
with that address.

Anyway, deleted xchng acct and reloaded it, and now it seems fine.

thx.
