Account Settings Unknown Error -30588

I need to edit my email account settings, but every time I try to select one of the accounts and click Edit, I get a message saying the action could not be completed, unknown error -30588. I took it to a genius bar recently and the guy poked around a little, didn't change anything, and it magically began to work again. Now I'm having the same problem. Any ideas?

Error -30588 was a known bug for Office X->2004 upgrades (not an issue on
full install)

Let's do some testing.

1) in Entourage create a new Identity. Can you edit accounts in the new
Identity? If yes, then I would move my data over. You have to do this
manually in the same version. How to manually move your data. (when import
fails and/or you need to move to a new Identity same version or revert to an
older version)

2) if it doesn't work in a new Identity, then create a new User account is
System Preferences and see if it works there. If yes, then it's a problem in
your User account. If no, then it's system wide. A combo update might fix
the problem. Other wise you'll need to do an "Archive & Install". For help
