Ack! Damage to the file was so extensive that repairs . . .

I saved multiple copies of a very important spreadsheet in multiple places,
but when I try to open them, they all have the same error message stating the
the file was corrupted . . . repairs were not possible . . . then all my work
is reduced to some data! Formulas are all gone.

Help area suggests preventing the "repairs" by editing registry keys and the
keys elaborated do not exist in the file structure described.

Any help would be appreciated! (I never had these problems before XP/office
2003. Now it is fairly frequent.

I have the same problem. I'm able to open the 5 files getting this error in
Excel 2000 but any system with Excel 2003 gets an error. These file are the
corner stone of our budget process and worked on my many different people and
departments not to mention over seas offices. We are about half way through
an upgrade to Office 2003 at your location but an entire corporate wide
upgrade won't be complete until next year so this leaves me with quite a
problem.
Found the following KB article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;820712 followed the
procedure and now the file works fine in Excel 2003 but if it’s open in Excel
2000 it gives the same error! Obviously this is an incompatibility problem
with some of the formulas between Excel 2000 and Excel 2003.

Wondering if you ever found a solution??
