I inserted a .pdf image then tried to open it and was told it was created in
acro exch and I couldn't open it.
how do it convert the image from acro exch to word?

Acro = Acrobat (as in Adobe Acrobat).

Word cannot read Acrobat format: you need Adobe Acrobat Pro to open it and
convert it to another format. One of the purposes of PDF is to protect a
document against being easily changed or plagiarised.
