Hi,
could anybody give me advise how I can enter actual information about task
which started e.g. on Monday, actually finished on Friday, but duration of
them is 4 hours? In base plan it planned as started on Monday and finished on
Monday. Developer start it as planned, do 50% and can't work for 4 days.
Duration at the and still 4 hours, but act. finished at Friday. When I
entered in tracking view actual start and finish MSP automatically define
duration as 40 hrs. How to fix it?

If you are manually entering the actuals in the Microsoft Project plan, you
could use the Task Usage view for this purpose. Apply the view, then
right-click in the timephased grid and apply the Actual Work details. Enter
2 hours on Monday and 2 hours on Friday. Click View - Table - More Tables
and adjust the Remaining Work to 0 hours. Hope this helps.

Thanks! But you wrote "Click View - Table - More Tables" and which table I
could use?

Oops! The step should have read: Click View - Table - Work and adjust the
Remaining Work to 0 hours. Hope this helps.

Thank's!!!
But another one question. I entered all as you wrote: actual cost 24 hrs,
remaining work - 0hrs. But after applying Gantt chart view - work field is 32
hrs. Cost of task is correct and calculated as 24 * rate per hour. Why 32?

Did you enter the 8 hours of Actual Work in the timephased grid
(yellow/white timesheet) on the right side of the Task Usage view? You
should have entered 4 hours on Monday, 4 hours on Friday, and then reduced
the Remaining Work to 0 hours.

Yes, I did it as you wrote. Act. work is 8 hrs, and cost is calculated as
8*rate per hr But field Duration show 32 hrs. May be semantic of Duration is
not clear for me..
