No matter what I do in this document it applies to the whole document rather
than selected data. For example, if I highlight a word to to make changes to
the font like bold and underline, the hour glass of death appears and then my
whole document is then bold and underlined. A co-worker knowlingly tells me
to just click on undo and the whole document will return to the revious state
except the data I selected will be bold and underlined like i desired. Well
this also ocurred when I attempted to apply a bullet to a line. Again the
whole document after a rather lengthy hour glass wait, had bullets applied. I
hit undo and then only the data I desired had a bullet. This is a total new
experience as I use Word frequently. Even saving the 10 page document takes
a long time. Eventually after a few of these instances my Word 2003 stops
reponding and I have to shut it down. FYI the document was sent to me by my
co-worker so I could use it as a template to change my monthly reports to
match the new format desired by manager. I used a detect and repair option
under the "Help" Menu.
