In researching a potential issue in version 2003 I'm requesting some
assistance from forum participants.

Please visit each of these two sites:

http://churchofchrist-scottdepot.org/

http://www.tel-servbusinesssolutions.com

and click thru the menu bar links for a while, in order or at random.

If your browser crashes (ie: you get a dialog that it must close now),
please post to this thread what browser and it's version (full version
number please) you are using. If it's IE and you get the dialog to send in
an error report please post the following info it provides you with-

the appname:
appver:
modname:
modver:
offset:

And if you can click thru the sites all willy nilly and never get a browser
crash please post that along with the browser name and full version number.

thank you.

David
Error encountered almost immediately, both sites
VS: 6.0.2800.1106.XPSP2.030422.163
appname: iexplorer.ex
appver: 6.0.2800.110
modname: ntdll.dl
modver: 5.1.2600.121
offset: 00008dc5

David,

Site 1 crashed as soon as I tried any link after the home page loaded. Site 2 didn't crash, but pages didn't fully load.
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: ntdll.dll

ModVer: 5.1.2600.1106 Offset: 0000234e

However, both loaded and linked fine with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8. Figures a non-microsoft product would have no problem ;-)

thanx Chris, one more favor to ask, coming from Microsoft, they're
interested in the offset number on this one.
can you please revisit and reproduce the crash and send in the error report
for a total of ten times?

let me know, thanx.

thanx David, always good to see you come out of lurking ;-)
if you don't mind you might try these sites again and see if you get an
offset like this
offset: 00008dc5

and if so submit it in.

Lurking...well, you know what they say about two ears and one mouth ;-)
Besides you are always so 'helpful' <grin again> DavidF

David, Loaded in both browsers, though images were slow. Pages appeared to
quit loading, even saying 'done', and eventually the images loaded if you
stayed around long enough. I wouldn't normally, and would have assumed the
site had a problem.

If I have time later, I will fire up an older machine with an older version
of IE and test it with that.

David
tested the url: www.midtel.net/~telserv
no problems on page links, slow picture load times using very good broadband access even when site should be cached to IE. Email links work using Word as Outlook email editor, '03, w/office updates from 2/29/04
Did not test my Mozilla Browser & email, since I assume it works as previously posted
The only updates on this machine (since previous post) have been to Norton Internet Security, vs: 2003.
