Activate Rule to move previous emails into appropriate folder

How do I capture all emails in inbox to go to proper folders per my rule settings? Able to do it in Outlook, but seems rule only applies to new arriving emails. Help?

If you have existing messages and you'd like to apply rules to them
simply select one or more at at time, right-click or Control-click any
one of them and select Apply Rule --> All Rules.
