Activated lic ver Office 2007. Limited functionality for Word only

I am using Office Home and Student version on Vista.
I have installed all the updates.

I've had this less than 30 days. The other Office apps work fine. Also,
Word does does not close properly anymore.

I don't know if this is related but I.E.7 also does not close without the
system forcing the app to shut down.

Hmmm...Kodak AiO printer.

I should note that this has been working fine since March 9.

That's ruled out an HP printer driver then (one of the most common causes).

What happens when you start in test mode? From Start, run (Winkey+R),
type...

winword /a

and press enter. Does Word work OK now? Please let us know.

Try the following steps:

With all applications closed, make sure the user temp folder is empty: if
not, make it empty.
Make sure that you have the latest printer driver, delete and reinstall the
printer.
Rename normal.dot as normal.bad and test again.

If those all fail, run Regedit, navigate to the Word DATA key. With DATA
selected, press
DELETE. Word will create a new key when it is restarted.
