Activation of Publisher 2007 Trial

I downloaded and tried Pub trial. Then I followed instructions to
convert/activate it. I obtained the product key online and at the same time
it presented me with one download (Publisher2007Setup.exe) which I did and
installed it. Then I tried to use the product key but when I choose Convert
from Pub trial Help menu the window is titled "Microsoft Office Professional
2007 Trial" and when I get to the point of entering the product key it says
it is an invalid key and Pub still says I have a trial version. I am running
Vista Home Premium and Office Home and Student 2007. I think the Office Pro
Trial must have been original installed on my computer when I bought it.
When the trial ran out I bought online and installed the Home/Student
version. I have tried entering the Office Pro key from my old computer )with
an older version of Office) and it accepts it but in the end nothing changes
for Publisher. Do I need to uninstall Office Pro Trial? Or uninstall and
reinstall Pub? Thanks.

I have looked at both sites recently to no avail. For instance, when I try
to delete the Opa12.dat file I find nothing when I search for %programdata%.
Telephone activation is not available for a trial product. I have just tried
uninstalling and reinstalling Pub and entered the product key at the
beginning of activation but the situation remains the same. What now?

There are methods of removing 2007 altogether if you can't get it done in the
Add & Remove dialog in the control panel

How to uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the
Add or Remove Programs feature

Since Publisher is a standalone product in your situation, you should be able to
activate by phone.

You may have to write to Microsoft explaining your problem. There was an address
in the URL in the 293151 article.

I'm confused. Are you trying to activate the Publisher Trial or have you
purchased a key for Publisher and trying to convert the Publisher Trial to
active product?

I finally uninstalled Office Pro Trial and that did the trick. The next time
I opened Publisher it asked me to activate it, I went online and it all
worked. I now have a full (non-trial) version of Publisher 2007. Thanks
Mary. I hope this clears this up for you, Rob. Thanks for your interest.
