I thank you all so much for the replys and the patches to
fix my problem (cannot activate word on laptop computer),
however, all the patches are still being denied by my
email stating that the is a virus or worm on the patch. I
am leaving you all this new email address in hopes that I
will get the patch. Once I have the patch could someone
please explain to me how I go about using it.

Again thank you very much for your help in solving my
problem,
Matthew Billa

Posting your real email address to a news group is a very bad idea, spam
companies use automated bots to scan news groups and collect email
addresses.

Just because someone sends you a file and calls it a patch or a fix doesn't
make it so, it's just as likley to be a virus or trojan.
If anyone with a valid Microsoft fix/patch should be able to supply you a
URL to the file not the file itself; that way you can verify where the file
is comming from before installing "something" on your PC.

Patches don't come in e-mails, Matt. If they do, they're almost certrainly
hoaxes and likely to contain a virus.

Visit Micoroft Support and have them scan your system for you and list the
updates and patches you can use. You
can choose these or not to suit your needs.
