I recently bought a new pc with Vista home premium as its operating system.
I did not want to use the trial version of MS office 2007 already
pre-installed, so installed al legal version of Office XP, which I then
registered. I found this ran slow, and finally decided the problem was the
pre-installed Office 2007, and uninstalled it.
This did not help improve the speed. I then found I did need the extra
capacity of Office Pro 2007, and purchased it. I have installed it on my
laptop and it activated without problems. BUT on my desktop the software
installed, but refuses to activate. There is an activation wizard on the
main menu, but this seems to be a legacy from the pre-installed sofware.
When I go to the tab saying click her to activate a purchased copy of MS
Office Pro 2007, all it does is start Word. If I go to Word or any other of
the Office suite and click on Activate, nothing happens.
Just as annoyingly, Word is now operating very slowly, with lots of
egg-timer signals if I change from one screen to another.
All the advice (that I have found) on the MS web site, assumes the
activation wizard works. In my case it doesn't.
Can anyone help please?
