Active Directory Sync (Group) Getting Stuck

Each night at 3:30 AM our PS2007 server begins processing an "Active
Directory Sync (Group)" task. Each morning this task is stuck Processing at
0% and the CPU on the server is running in overdrive betwen the
Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.Queuing.exe and the sqlsevr.exe processes.
If I restart the Qing service there is no change. If I cancel the task in
the Q and then restart the service, the Q fills up with over a hudnred
individual sync tasks which eventually finish and all is well until the next
night when this all begins again.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

Yes, same here. I have the same symptoms on the PS queue and on the server's
CPU utilization. Cancelling the queued jobs made the two server processes
settle down completely. I've completely disabled AD synch and will see what
happens... it would be nice to have it back, though. Our PS07 is running on
Windows Server 2008, by the way. What are you using?
