We are on Project Server SP2a and are getting the following error: "AD Res
Pool Sync - failed to issue the PDS Resource Add request" which is listed as
an Event ID: 2. Many of the articles talk about clearing the Clear User AD
GUID - problem is we have never synched before and this option is not
available. The other part of this is we get some accounts that are not
throwing a warning while iothers are throwing the following error:
AD Res Pool Sync - failed to issue the PDS Resource Add request Event ID: 2

Component: AD Connector
File: AutoADProcess
Line: -1
Description:
AD Res Pool Sync - PDS ADD Res failed :
Brass; Allen

We originally thought it was due to a "." (period) separating the first and
last names. We removed it, waited and attempted and still get the same Error
and Warning. I do not have any more clues at this point. Any help would be
appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin

Have you tried adding the domain to the name? e.g. domain\user.name

Or you could try, user.names@domain

I'm not clear what you are asking. Change the username in PWA? In AD? The
username in AD is KFlanagan and is the same in PWA. We are using Windows
accounts in Project Server.

Hi Kevin,

I probably did not get your question right the first time. Let me just try
to confirm, you're trying to synchronize your ad groups with the project
server groups but you're getting an error?

Try putting the domain name in front of the group. domain\groupname or
groupname@domain

I remember facing a similar problem and that resolved it.

I tried groupname@domain and it added an additional error in the event log.
