active email link on locked form?

I'm back again with this one since I need to figure it out -
I've got a ton of forms to set up in MS Word - I want people to be able

to fill in the form and then at the end click on the email address of
the person they need to send it to. The email addess is active as long
as the
form is unlocked, but when I lock the
form so that a user can tab from field to field the email address isn't

clickable. Anybody got a suggestion about how to do this?

Unfortunately you have to contain the hyperlinks within Section Breaks
of some sort (most likely Continuous Section Breaks) & protect the
other sections individually.

Other options may be available, but this is the most direct approach.

I tried that, but I can't find a way to protect the other sections
individually - seems the entire for is protected or it isn't. Can you
please explain how to protect sections individually - I tried the
manual - can't find any discussion of that anywhere.

Then I played a bit more: I inserted a text box, dropped the email
address
into the box: Default text: "Fill-in enabled" has to be checked to
allow you to select the information - then you can select, copy and
paste the email address into the
To: field of your email utility! But the email address still isn't
clickable.

Are there any other suggestions out there?

OK I tried it out on the Mac - can't get it to work because I can't
display field codes. Tried it on the PC - I can edit the code but I
still can't make the link active.

I guess we'll have to go with the Default Text option with
instructions to copy and paste email address into a new Mail message.

Unless you have another suggestion?

You *can* display field codes on the Mac. Try control-click (right-click)
on a field and select Toggle Field Codes, or change the setting in
Preferences, and see also here:

Sorry about that.

Since that article has been tested for WinWord, that it didn't even work
there suggests you may have been doing something wrong. The link won't go
active until you protect the form, I think.

I never use forms but will try to experiment sometime soon.
