active fields in word

I use EndNote to create list of references. Then I get citations and a
list at the end in form of "active fields". I do not know if it is the
right word, I am translating literally from spanish. They become grey
when you place the mouse on them. I also get the same thing when I use
cross-references for figures and tables. My question is: how can I
transform this grey active chunks of text into plain text?

I have Microsoft Word 2002.
