Active Sync and Recurring Appointments

Has anyone run into a problem like this one:

I have a number of users that have iPaqs at my organization. There are a
few of them that experience a pop-up error when one instance of a recurring
appointment is changed in their Calendars. They get an error stating it
cannot see one instance of it. I'm not sure what the correlation is - the
amount of attendees in the appointment, the number of appointments yet to
occur in the series or what but the pop-up comes up over and over at least 5
times up to 15 or even 20. I got an Outlook patch from Microsoft to try and
fix this but it doesn't seem to help.

I am using Outlook 2003 connecting to an Exch 2003 Server and Active Sync is
3.8.0 (Build 5004).

Any help would be greatly appreciated -
