active sync does not work with outlook 2007

After 2007 Outlook install and antice sync 4.5 install, said outlook not
installed. after following suggestions from MS at microsoft.com,
uninstalling various versions of active sync, repairing office 2007, etc.
still does not work, i now get "Synchronization cannot start becasue this
desktop computer cannot access necessary information. If theproblem persists
and this destop is running MS Outlook 2000, open Outlook 2000, click Help,
and then Detect and Repair."

What operating system are you using?

XP SP2. Is it that active sync whatever version does not work with outlook
2007 on XP?

If so, I suppose buying a new pocketpc won't solve the problem (mine is an
old casio).
