Activesync for MSN blocks Pocket PC from synchronizing with Outllo

Last month, I tried the option to use ActiveSync with MSN 9. Since then, my
PocketPC refuses to sync with my Calendar, Notes, Contacts, and Tasks. I
prefer not to have my Outlook info stored over the web. I keep getting these
two messages when I put my iPAQ in its cradle:

"Synchronization cannot start because this desktop computer cannot access
necessary information. Restart this desktop computer and synchronize again.
If the problem persist and this desktop computer is running Microsoft Outlook
2000, open Outlook, click Help, and then click Detect and Repair. Otherwise,
contact your network administrator."

"Synchronization cannot be started because you are not able to log on to the
network and access information. Restart your desktop computer and synchronize
again. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator."

I have performed the following:
1) Detect & Repair
2) Removed & reinstalled Outlook, and ActiveSync 3.7
3) Removed ActiveSync for MSN
4) Cleaned the registry, after the removal of the above.

I have tried to alter a few other minor settings, but still no sync. Any
ideas for a solution?

Since Outlook is working I would suggest posting this in
microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync.

I have exactly the same problem ant it seems that it is related to crrupted
files in outlook.
i have unsinstall activesync
reinstall it
did hard reset of my IPAQ
but I had the same response :
"Synchronization cannot start because this desktop computer cannot
| access necessary information. Restart this desktop computer and
| synchronize again. ....."

It seems that we need first to test synchronisation in another computer. If
it works the problem is outlook files. and we would need to re-install outlook

I have the same problem. I had outlook 2002 which worked with the active sync
then accidentally installed outlook 2000 and did a soft reset which worked
and now trying to install 2002 outlook and it doesn't active sync now ..
same messages as below.. syn cannot start... etc... can's access dll
files..etc....

aarrrrrhhh ! what can i do ?? ?

I have had this problem for 5 months now. Both HP and Microsoft techs are
baffeled. I have spent over 100 phone hours with them with no luck.I have 20
pages of notes so far. If you want to compare notes please contact me at
