Activesync problems

Outlook 2000 and activesync 3.7.1 on Windows 2000 serve

My ipaq has suddenly stopped syncing anything with outlook, other non outlook objects sync fine (files etc), but calendar, contacts etc all say attention required. The following is an extract from the outstore.log fil

2004-01-11 22:33:03 00000D18 - Outlook 99 (9.0, build 0) detected at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\outlook.exe
2004-01-11 22:33:09 00000D18 - Initialization of Exchange failed. Error code: 0x8004010
2004-01-11 22:33:09 00000D18 - ActiveSync for Microsoft Outlook initialized. Error: 0x80140010, 173 Time: 1 second

and teh following is from wcesmgr.lo

2004-01-11 22:33:10 00000D18 - ERROR: Initialization of SSP 'Microsoft Outlook' failed. Error: 0x80140010
2004-01-11 22:33:10 00000D18 - ERROR: Unable to start SSP 'Microsoft Outlook'. Error

I've done detect and repair, I've reinstalled office and active sync, I've done the regsvr32 oleaut32.dll fix, I've hard reset the IPAQ, I've started with a fresh PST file in Outlook.

Does anyone know anything else I can do to sort this problem, short of reinstalling the entire OS. Thanks for your time

No it doesent, there is no exchange server (and hence no offline address book) involved. Thanks anyway.

Ok for the record, I've fixed it

Mapi32.dll in winnt\system had been overwritten with a version that activesync didnt like.
