ActiveSynch 4.2 calendar dates

I just bought a PPC-6700 phone and it comes with active synch 4.2

It was out of the box simple and easy to use. HOWEVER, there are some
'bugs' in the resulting data.

Some of the dates on the calendar are off by one day. They appear on the
PDA phone, one day earlier than the calendar in Outlook 2003. The best I can
tell, it is only 'reoccuring dates' such as holidays or events that I added
that occur ever Tuesday for a month etc.

Without being able to fix this, it makes my calendar to unreliable and
therefore I can not depend on it while I am away from my desk.

I have checked the time zones on both devices and they appear to be the same.

Any ideas?

A discrepancy between the DST setting on the phone and PC can cause this.

I can't find on my PPC-6700 where to check for DST, but I will continue to
search. That sounds like a logical explanation. Although I had already
verified time zones between the two, I hadn't thought of DST. Outlook is set
to compensate for DST and I will see if I can ensure the same for PDA.

I'll appreciate any other suggestions.

You know, I can't find it on mine, either. Perhaps it's synched from the
PC. I have the "Synchronize mobile device clock upon connecting" checked in
the Options dialogue. Do you?

those settings are they on the phone or the computer. I've looked, honest..
and I don't see where I have that option. I really appreciate the help. I
need to get ALL the events to synch accurately. Being off a day doesn't do
me any good.

Like Brian, I've found no direct way of dealing with DST on the PPC-6700
either, other than selecting the appropriate timezone (E.G. GMT-7 Mountain
which honors DST vs GMT-7 Arizona which does NOT honor it). I have found
that you can set the 6700 to sync system time with the wireless provider
network (Start|Settings|Personal|Phone|Services|Time Synchronization|Get
Settings). I can also report that direct sync with our Exchange Server does
NOT sync system time.

As to the times for recurring appointments, I had something similar happen
with my 6700. I have a recurring monthly meeting that was setup several
years ago and its been working fine in both Outlook 2000 and 2003. When I
first synced the 6700 with our Exchange Server, it picked up this
appointment, BUT, it had the time off by (as I recall) 7 hours. Sounded
like a timezone problem, but nothing I did with the phone fixed the error.
I finally had to delete the appointment from Outlook, find the original
message with the appointment attached to it (which I'd decided to save for
some reason) and reload it. Afterwards, both Outlook and the 6700 calendars
showed the correct starting time. No appointments, either one-time or
recurring, have exhibited this problem since, so I haven't been able to
research the problem further.

It's in ActiveSync. Click the Options button. The checkbox will be on the
default Sync Options tab.
